Good news from The Friends Project!

Good news from The Friends Project! We successfully funded college scholarships for two students from El Sauce, Nicaragua, where we raised money for, built and opened a kindergarten in 2014. Yessenia and Alonso are in their final year of school; she’s becoming a nurse and is already in an internship in a rural community and Alonso will become an English teacher. They are both children of farmers  in the coffee-farming cooperative with whom The Friends Project works.

Julius Sairowua, a young Masai man in Kenya, is spending his second year as a safari guide with Porini Lion Camp, which is on Masai-owned conservancy land and nearly staffed by all Masai. We fundraised to provide a full scholarship for him to complete guiding school in 2016. He was chosen by his elders and it was his dream.

Two photos: One of Julius at the Porini Lion Camp and the other a photo he took on a morning.

Thank you to all!
