Spay and Neuter Clinic in El Sauce, Nicaragua

After arriving home from a 4 Walls trip to El Sauce, Nicaragua with students in August 2013, Michele Ariola resolved to do something to help control the animal population in El Sauce. It was heartbreaking to see such skinny animals wandering the streets. To make matters worse, they were reproducing. This only served to exacerbate the problem.

Michele enlisted the help of the volunteer organization, NicaVets, along with Ashley Sullivan and Martha Rojas (members of the 4 Walls Board in Nicaragua / Ciudad Hermana). Together, they organized the first spay and neuter clinic in El Sauce (sponsored by the Hilton High School International Club). As a result of the clinic, twenty animals were spayed and neutered in August, 2014.

Preparations for the 2nd spay and neuter clinic in El Sauce (Nov. ’15) are underway. The goal is to double the number of procedures this year. To do so, your help is needed! Please donate and specify “El Sauce Spay and Neuter” under notes to seller. ¡Gracias!
