Hilton High School Volunteer Project Trip – February, 2018

In October of 2011, representatives from Project 4 Walls and Ciudad Hermana visited Hilton High School to speak to the students about humanitarian projects taking place in and around El Sauce, Nicaragua. The representatives spoke with students in the International Baccalaureate Spanish and French classes as well as to members of the Hilton High School International Club. Both the students and staff of Hilton went away from the presentation with a strong desire to help make a difference in Nicaragua.

In August, 2013 staff and students from Hilton High School traveled to Nicaragua. They built three homes for families in El Sauce and had the opportunity to visit a preschool that they had raised money to help rebuild. The experience had a profound impact on all involved.

Committed to continue making a difference in El Sauce, Michele Ariola, a Spanish teacher and International Club Advisor at Hilton High School, planned another trip for February, 2015. The group built two more houses for families in need. The most recent trip was in August, 2016. Students not only helped construct two homes, but also helped with the Amigos en Acción Program, sponsored a donation distribution day, and worked at a spay and neuter clinic they sponsored.  The next trip is planned for February, 2018.  To make this trip a reality, the Hilton group needs to raise approximately $2,000 for building supplies.

We need your help! Please consider making a donation to this cause. Identify the project as “Hilton HS”. Thank you!
